A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage projects and provide technical expertise in designing electrical systems. The role involves integrating mechanical and control requirements and preparing detailed reports and cost estimates. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in a relevant industry, holds a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, and is legally authorized to work in Canada. A hybrid work arrangement may be available.
The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams to provide electrical engineering and related technical expertise. Work will include integrating process, mechanical, and control requirements into comprehensive electrical systems. Projects will focus on design and analysis and will include preparing plans and specifications, writing reports, and developing cost estimations as well as the design of power and controls from the ground up. The work will be related to industrial processing facilities, power plants, mining facilities, and municipal water and wastewater facilities. This person will also be responsible for managing projects, coaching and mentoring less-experienced staff, providing technical leadership, managing teams to meet clients\' needs, and conducting business development activities. The work may involve short-term, out-of-town assignments.
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position can be based out of Barr\'s Calgary, Alberta, or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, offices.
NOTE: Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment. Safety training will be provided before being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.
