Job description
Overview

Roska DBO Inc. is currently seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineer (P.Eng.) to work out of our customer’s downtown Calgary office. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for detailed electrical design development and engineering support throughout all project phases, including procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, start-up, and final handover. This is a 12–18 month minimum term role, (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day).

Key Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience specifying and designing:
    • Transformers
    • Switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • Motors for large industrial systems
  • Proficient in eTap for electrical design and coordination
  • Experience preparing electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Experience supporting procurement, installation, and commissioning activities
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical codes, standards, and safety practices
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
  • Perform detailed electrical engineering activities to deliver high-quality, constructible design packages.
  • Develop and review electrical design deliverables including specifications, one-line diagrams, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure design criteria, constructability, and operational requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project scope, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure electrical designs are constructible in the field with minimal revisions.
  • Support the development of cost estimates and project schedules and ensure adherence to approved budgets and timelines.
  • Comply with the Project Quality Management System and applicable electrical standards.
  • Manage scope and support formal change management processes when required.
  • Ensure electrical work is implemented in accordance with safety, environmental, operability, efficiency, and maintainability standards.
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work with urgency and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
