Job Description

Location: Hybrid remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.

Position Summary: The eLearning Production Assistant (EPA) supports the development and delivery of online and blended learning experiences within the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. Reporting to the Manager, International and Community Education, the EPA collaborates with the eLearning Specialist, instructors, and subject matter experts to transform existing course materials into fully online formats, handling production logistics and ensuring timely, high‑standard course builds.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with faculty and SMEs to gather, organize, and adapt course materials for online delivery.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread written course content, learning activities, and assessment instructions.
  • Support the ideation and integration of multimedia assets (e.g., video, audio, imagery) into online courses.
  • Assist with quality assurance reviews to ensure alignment with pedagogical standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Upload and organize content within the LMS (e.g., eClass/Canvas) and maintain version control of files.
  • Manage project timelines and task tracking in coordination with the eLearning Specialist.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the eLearning team to ensure clarity and consistency in communication.
  • Document workflows, update project records, and maintain accurate metadata for course materials.
  • Support the eLearning Specialist in testing and troubleshooting course functionality.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in education, communications, instructional design, or a related field. Students nearing the end of their studies with relevant experience are welcomed to apply.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills with attention to clarity and instructional tone.
  • Demonstrated experience working with digital tools or learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Comfort working in collaborative, fast‑paced academic environments.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, MS Office).
  • Detail‑oriented and able to follow structured workflows and processes.
Preferred
  • Experience in higher education, educational publishing, or digital course development.
  • Experience with project management and knowledge of project coordination tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Smartsheet).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
  • Exposure to tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, or other content development platforms.
