Job description
Overview

Location: United States (Sterling Heights, Michigan) or Canada (North York, Cambridge, Oshawa, Windsor, Stoney Creek). The successful candidate will be based either in Canada or at the US site. Must be a Canadian or US citizen.

Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent. Full onsite for first month, then roll over to hybrid (3 days in office).

Salary & Benefits: $85,000 - $95,000 annually. 10-15 days vacation, depending on years of experience. Comprehensive benefit package including Health, Medical, and Dental. RRSP/DPSP Contribution Plan entitlement is on the first of the month following three months of continuous employment.

Job Summary

The EDI Systems and Admin Manager is responsible for the overall flow and integrity of all EDI data, ensuring stable and error-free operations and administration of all supporting and related systems. They work closely with peer ERP, MES, IT, and barcode labeling teams to facilitate seamless integration. The current system architecture involves outsourcing EDI service delivery to a third-party provider (QAD Cloud-EDI). Business requirements from internal plants and corporate teams are coordinated, vetted, costed, implemented, and supported by the EDI Systems and Admin Manager.

The EDI Systems and Admin Manager participates in meetings, projects, and collaborations to achieve priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver services to ensure stable and cost-effective EDI data fulfillment for Tiercon.
  • Engage and manage the services provider (QCE) and, through them, all VAN (Value-Added Network) providers.
  • Implement and manage VANs and Trading Partner relationships to support requirements from all plants and corporate functions.
  • Conduct requirements assessments for new or modified EDI data transactions and connections.
  • Support and share responsibility for systems and account administration (data, users, performance, capacity, etc.).
  • Technical analysis and problem determination for EDI transactions and connections through the QAD E-Commerce subsystem.
  • Define specifications for EDI data mapping and implement with in-house development or subcontracting through QCE.
  • Oversee routine EDI traffic flows (e.g., 830/862, 856 ASNs, 820, and other standard EDI transactions).
  • Use OEM Supplier Portal systems to implement new/changed EDI connections and address traffic issues to ensure a robust EDI subsystem.
  • Interface with ERP and IT systems teams; report to a common manager.
  • Experience with EDI transactions and maps is required; familiarity with a standard ERP system for EDI interfaces is necessary, with QAD and Sterling E-commerce exposure as a strong asset.
  • Requirements management and collaboration with business/functional peers to scope, vet, and implement new or changed EDI requirements; ability to work independently and take initiative.
Qualifications
  • Minimum college-level certification/diploma in Information Technology.
  • EDI-specific training program certification.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and managing end-to-end EDI systems.
  • Automotive Tier-1 supplier experience with full competence on related EDI codes/standards.
  • ERP systems exposure with a strong preference for QAD and the embedded Sterling EDI subsystem.
Working Conditions

In-office presence combined with virtual conferencing to manufacturing plants and teams in Southern Ontario and Sterling Heights, Michigan. Occasional travel to manufacturing plants may be required. Travel between Canada and the US for business is preferable but not required.
