Overview

CBAL is looking for one full-time or part-time ECE and one part-time ECEA in Cranbrook at the YPEP Daycare located at College of the Rockies. These roles support children to grow and learn in a safe and stimulating environment. Positions begin immediately.

Wage and Schedule

The wage is $20.00 for ECEA. The wage for ECEs is $21.00 plus the wage enhancement for fully licensed ECEs. The daycare is open from 8:30 - 4:30 Monday to Friday from September to May. The centre closes from June to August. Summers at YPEP.

Requirements
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Valid Community Care Facilities Branch BC License to Practice.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience in using the Early Learning Framework.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.
Duties
  • Plan, develop and deliver age-appropriate and engaging daily activities.
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Adhere to Provincial Child Care Licensing Regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate records and information on each child, particularly regarding their health, safety or well-being, including attendance, absence and other parent messages.
  • Provide for the safety and well-being of children and model positive and culturally sensitive approaches.
  • Develop positive and professional relationships with parents.
  • Guide and assist children to develop proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
  • Respect and address children’s social and emotional needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to create effective and relevant programming and ideas to address areas for development within the daycare program.
