Overview

About this opportunity: Reporting into the Senior Manager, Discipline Facilities Engineering, the Discipline Facilities Engineer (process) provides technical process support to Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams within Cenovus Upstream Canadian Thermal and Conventional Heavy Oil (CTCHO) assets.

What you’ll do
  • Liaison for process engineering technical support to the Engineering teams across Oilsands, Lloydminster Thermal, and Conventional Heavy Oil.
  • Support facility modifications, equipment installations/repairs, and non‑RIK changes ensuring engagement of appropriate engineering SMEs.
  • Provide upfront project scoping (design basis, execution strategy, cost estimate, schedule) and generate/validate engineering work packages for low‑complexity work, executed internally or via third‑party engineering firms
  • Perform or review process calculations in accordance with specifications, standards, codes, regulations and recommended practices (e.g. ASME, API, and CSA).
  • Fulfill requirements under corporate integrity programs (e.g., PEIMS, PLIMP).
  • Lead the Cenovus Management of Change process for facility modifications, performing ORAs as needed and assessing risks through process hazard analysis (PHA) techniques, including facilitating and approving PHAs for assigned MOCs
  • Execute projects in accordance with the Cenovus Operating Integrity Management System (COIMS) and the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
  • Develop standardized designs and methodologies for recurring project types and support continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned.
  • Manage Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) revalidation programs.
  • Act as Car Seal authority when delegated by the Steam Chief.
Who you are

Minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • P. Eng. designation with APEGA or APEGS.
  • Minimum 4 years process engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (e.g. ASME, CSA, and API).
  • Proficiency in developing Process engineering deliverables.
  • Experience in oil and gas production, transportation, upgrading/refining or petrochemicals considered an asset.
  • Experience with SAP is considered an asset.
