Overview

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will work with multiple investment fund clients, internal groups and third parties. You will be responsible for Tax Reporting for funds structured as Trusts, Corporations, Segregated Funds and LPs and conduct full tax services provided for investment funds including distribution, income and gain/loss allocation, information for unitholder tax reporting, Tax Returns, PFIC.

Responsibilities
  • Lead tax regulatory changes internally and with clients.
  • Plan tax reporting activities by establishing tasks, objectives and priorities internally and with clients.
  • Work with clients regarding fund events impacting tax reporting requirements.
  • Participate in current and prospective client meetings for tax reporting.
  • Review complex distribution calculations and tax returns as part of oversight.
  • Oversee Tax Service provider in regards to deliverables and deadlines.
  • Lead transition of tax services to Tax Service Provider, seek solutions and make decisions to minimize risk.
Qualifications
  • CPA or Equivalent
  • 7+ years of related tax reporting experience in the investment fund industry or public accounting preferably in the financial services industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • CICA In-Depth Tax Course
