Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data science libraries and exposure to R, JMP, or MATLAB is an asset.
  • Strong programming experience in Python is required.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and data modeling.

About the job

As Data Engineer VIE within our Digital Data & Technology team, you will develop and maintain standardized data pipeline to ensure the contextualized data is available real-time for the end users.

The Data Science & Digital Transformation (DSD) platform supports several vaccine manufacturing processes within MSAT (Manufacturing Science, Analytics & Technology)—the group responsible for process understanding, optimization, lifecycle management, and ensuring robust and compliant production. DSD provides data management, analytics, process monitoring, and web application solutions to enable proactive, data-driven decisions across the site.

Main responsibilities
  • Perform Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) activities including data cleansing, transformation, integration, and preparation for data warehouse and analytics initiatives.
  • Design and maintain relational database schemas; write optimized Structured query language (SQL) queries.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain web-based dashboards and monitoring tools (Power BI, Streamlit, Flask).
  • Develop Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), scripts, and analytics workflows; integrate code with internal cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS).
  • Collaborate with process subject matter experts (SMEs), global experts, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, science-driven solutions.
About you
Experience
  • Familiarity with data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn); exposure to R, JMP, or MATLAB is an asset.
  • Experience with cloud analytics platforms (Snowflake, AWS, GCP).
  • Strong programming experience in Python (required).
Soft and Technical skills
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with bioprocess unit operations to interpret data trends in the context of underlying manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of data governance and best practices in analytics deployment.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to deliver complex projects.

Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a bioprocess-related field. A combination of software and bioprocess experience is ideal.
