Sagard is seeking a talented and motivated Forward-Deployed Data Engineer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Data, you will play a crucial part in designing and building scalable data solutions on Sagard’s Data Platform that supports internal operations, deal sourcing, and our diverse ecosystem of investors and portfolio companies.

You will be instrumental in partnering with our business units to solve their most complex problems, while working with our technical team to build out our data infrastructure and ensure alignment with our firm-wide data vision. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who is passionate about leveraging technology to solve business challenges and drive strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal business units to understand their needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Create, evolve, and maintain data sources and innovative pipelines
  • Utilize automation and AI-driven tools to streamline data workflows and analytics capabilities
  • Design and develop applications that enable users to intuitively interact with complex datasets
  • Own the delivery of new capabilities from problem-solving through to deployment
  • Contribute to the comprehensive roadmap for the data platform's evolution and enhancement
  • Ensure solutions align with established best practices for data governance, security, and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data management, data architecture, or related roles. Recent graduates with strong practical experience in building data solutions are also encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to work with ambiguous or open-ended challenges.
  • Experience in developing and managing data pipelines and building applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Python. Familiarity with Golang and Typescript is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data platform technologies, dashboards, workflows, and applied AI solutions.
  • Creative, resourceful, and able to work autonomously to own projects.
  • Experience within the asset management or financial services industry is highly desirable.
