Flare is a breakout cybersecurity Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company with a mission to empower organizations to take control of their data and protect their customers, employees and brand by shedding light on external threats. Weenable cybersecurity teams to proactively detect high-risk external exposure across the dark and clear web, before threat actors have a chance to leverage it. We unify the core functionalities of cyber threat intelligence and external attack surface management into a single, intuitive platform.

TL;DR: We are a bunch of nerds who help protect our clients' data (and people in their network) by locating cyber risks.

What will your typical day look like?

By being part of our development team, you ensure the smooth running of data collection operations. Collection activities across a wide variety of sources allow Flare Systems to monitor external threats to our users. Your work will be at the core of the product offered by our team.

You will have to detect anomalies, maintain collection on existing sources, as well as increase coverage by configuring new collection rules. Collecting a source involves a variety of development activities, including programming login agent, data extraction rules, or validating the data collected.

During your day, you will also have to collaborate with the data team in order to fix the issues encountered during the collection operations as well as to improve the tools to improve the processes of creation and maintenance of collection activities.

Your purpose and impact:

• Configure data collection for data sources, such as forums or black markets on the Dark Web and Clear Web.
• Browse the collected sources to identify the type of data relevant to users and the layout of the sites to develop effective collection rules.
• Monitor the collection operations of existing sources and make the necessary changes following the observed updates.
• In coordination with the data team identify, improve and develop new tools dedicated to facilitate the data collection operations.

You’ll be a perfect fit if:

• Scripting or software development skills (e.g., Python, shell scripting, Linux)
• Knowledge of the Web technology stack (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XPATH, REST)
• Excellent autonomy and abilities to learn;
• Knowledge of OSINT sources and methods (i.e., social media, deep / dark web search engines, government databases, etc.) and a general understanding of information leakage and their impact on security risk/incidents;
