Job summary

A prominent military organization is seeking a Child and Youth Services Assistant Director to assist in program operations and ensure accountability for staff performance. The ideal candidate will oversee program safety and well-being for children and youth, requiring a health assessment and the completion of various background checks. This role is located in Canada, Prince Edward Island, and requires someone over 18 years of age. Incentives will not be paid.

Position Location

This position is located at White Sands Missile Range, NM.

CYS Employee Childcare Fee
  • CYS Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours) who utilize White Sands Range CYS childcare services (CDC and SAC)
  • First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
  • Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)

Duties
  • Serves as a Child and Youth Services (CYS) Assistant Director of a CYS Program with responsibility for assisting the supervisor in the operation of an assigned CYS program IAW all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of assigned staff and the safety and well being of children and youth IAW DoD, Army and local policies and standards.
  • Provides appropriate staff professional recognition and/or disciplinary action. Conducts written observations of staff during all hours of operation, and evaluates employees based on established performance standards.
  • Works cooperatively with other CYS Managers to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality options for all children and youth. Serves as member of the CYS Program Plan Team to develop written strategies for program improvement.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • The Crime Control Act must be completed and maintained.
  • Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
  • Travel to on and off post locations required.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy to include annual influenza vaccinations.
