Cook / Kitchen Hand / Cashier

We are a Asian inspired quick service restaurant known for our fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and quick service. We're looking for a reliable and efficient cook to join our kitchen team.

Reports To : Manager on Duty

Responsibilities

General Duties : The general duties of the Line Cook / Prep Cook include prep duty during down time, supporting line cook or prep cook on duty, maintaining a clean work area. Prep cook responsible for POS (point of sale system to record and cash out orders), ensuring correct processing of orders including, opening, closing and balancing at end of shift. Additional support to the manager as needed including managing inventory. This position requires long periods of standing and some lifting.

Overview of Job :

  • Wok experience an asset
  • Cooking on the line as needed
  • Prep all required food and sauce items
  • Knowledge of all prep recipes and procedures
  • Stock rotation first in first out
  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with all employees and customers
  • Line set up and tear down
  • Preparing online and take out food orders as needed
  • Cleaning kitchen and maintaining kitchen equipment while practicing perfectionism in sanitation and quality control
  • Use of hot woks, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • Reading, understanding and following recipes and measurements
  • High level of pride and care of food quality
  • Recording food waste and maintaining portion control
Areas of Responsibility
  • Speed, a sense of urgency in cooking dishes in a timely manner
  • Some dishwashing may be required
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the line area to ensure knowledge and practice of the food safety principles
  • Strong understanding of the menu, with the ability of handling food and allergy requests
  • Keep area organized to improve efficiency of your food station
  • Treat machines and food with care
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Take out garbage and replace bags
  • Additional duties if needed
  • The ability to take initiative
Qualifications
  • Food safety course is mandatory (available online)
  • Experience minimum 2 years
