Convention and Special Events Planner

Location: Montréal, QC H2Y 2E8

Job Setting: On‑site customer service; events planning, logistics, and marketing for conferences and special events.

Employment Type: Full‑time, Permanent; 40‑hour work week.

Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 per year (negotiable)

Start Date: 16 February 2026

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing financial reports.
  • Promote conference and meeting services or special events.
  • Develop marketing and communication plans.
  • Develop media strategies and public relations activities.
  • Prepare, present and manage budgets.
  • Determine requirements for hospitality services, signage, multi‑media equipment, printing and other technical services, and arrange for and manage contracts for these services.
  • Assist in budget preparation.
  • Co‑ordinate and monitor conference and meeting activities and attend to related details.
  • Co‑ordinate media services.
  • Co‑ordinate set‑ups, staging, seating, parking, communication systems and other details for special events.
  • Implement registration systems.
  • Implement social programs, food and beverage, transportation, and other services.
  • Plan and arrange for accommodation and transportation services.
  • Plan schedules, goals and objectives.
  • Develop registration systems and information materials.
  • Plan for required documentation and for pre‑ and post‑distribution of documentation (itineraries, evaluations, etc.).
  • Research and design special events programs.
  • Manage event logistics.
  • Develop and implement business plans.
  • Implement marketing activities.
  • Carry out management duties.
  • Attend to group arrivals and departures.
  • Connect power to audio and visual equipment.
  • Supervise food service operations.
  • Direct the marketing strategies of establishments.
  • Develop communication strategies.
  • Conduct research to support content production.
Qualifications

Education: College/CEGEP

Experience: 3 to 5 years in event planning, hospitality or related field.
