Job summary

A property restoration company in Red Deer is seeking a Contents Technician to work in field services. In this role, you'll respond to emergency situations and help restore properties affected by damage. Competitive hourly pay and training for IICRC certifications are provided. Ideal candidates are customer-oriented and able to work independently as well as in teams.

Qualifications

Contents Technician

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour

The Contents Technician position is a career in field services in the property damage restoration industry, primarily responsible for responding to emergency and property damaging situations. Our team addresses the property and the customer with skill, knowledge, and professionalism while preserving as much of the property as possible while working safely and efficiently on the job site. IICRC certifications are available as IICRC classes are offered.

Responsibilities
  • Work safely in residential and commercial properties that have been damaged by fire, water, storm, and/or mold
  • Survey damage within the property
  • Evaluate and record damage to all items within the property
  • Assist with the completion of supply orders for the contents division
  • Submit daily timesheets and code job hours to the supervisor
  • Complete cleaning processes for both contents and structural damage assigned jobs
  • Complete and file documentation on contents and laundry jobs
  • Complete notes of assigned jobs in our primary operating system (RMS)
  • Take photos of jobs assigned at the start, completion, and throughout the process
  • Keep equipment clean and organized in the shop
  • Responsible for unloading trash in assigned areas
  • Perform initial site visits
  • Set restoration equipment within guidelines

  • Ability to create documents
  • Ability to answer and communicate with customers over the phone and face to face
  • Ability to work independently and / or with a team
  • Ability to participate in an on-call schedule
  • Ability to work within hazardous environments safely
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle safely
  • Maintain a level of confidentiality
Preferred Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Customer Service experience
Physical Requirement
  • Constantly move about job sites; stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spaces
  • Stationary position up to 25% of the time within a vehicle
  • Occasionally requires a ladder to complete jobs
  • Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone and face to face
  • Frequently will lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
