Job description

Consultant Psychiatrist – Old Age Psychiatry

Based at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Service (1 post). Permanent appointment – Full time (10 sessions).

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed clinician to join our dedicated team within NHS Fife working in old age psychiatry. The West Fife Inpatient Mental Health Team covers West Fife and operates in partnership with the OA community MH team also in Queen Margaret Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies.
• Lead and manage change, especially in developing the non‑medical workforce amid medical staffing challenges.
• Support multi‑disciplinary team colleagues’ professional development.
• Participate in CPD and peer supervision; attend regular educational events.

Qualifications

• Fully registered medical practitioner with MRCPsych or equivalent.
• Appropriate CCT (or eligibility for inclusion within 6 months of interview).
• Candidate may pursue specialist registration through the CESR process with support available.
