The Wilder Institute is seeking a full‑time permanent Communications Advisor to craft engaging social media and video content that inspires action for wildlife, wild places, and the people on our planet. The Communications Advisor work will help tell the stories that matter and directly support our vision of a future where people and wildlife thrive together.
As part of the Brand & Public Relations team, the Communications Advisor will be responsible for creating content that brings our critical conservation initiatives to life. They will use their creative storytelling skills and expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and video production to engage audiences and amplify our impact. The Communications Advisor is a detail‑oriented writer and editor, a creative thinker, and a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. They also work closely with other key impacted parties including senior leadership, Marketing, Conservation & Science, Development and Government Relations, Conservation Education, Volunteer Relations, and Animal Care, Health & Welfare.

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues.
