LEGHORN POULTRY SPECIALIST, Sales/Service

Steinbach Hatchery Ltd. is an independently owned and operated company that has been committed to offering our customers a tradition of quality since 1935. Steinbach Hatchery is a major supplier of day-old chicks to Egg Producers across the Prairies.

We currently require a Sales Representative who is stationed in Southern Manitoba. The successful candidate will be responsible to call on current and future clients in the Southeast and Central area of Manitoba. This position is specific to the marketing of day‑old leghorn chicks and affiliated products and services. Strong customer support and communication are an expected attribute.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary task is sales and marketing of world class leghorn genetics to egg farmers in Southern Manitoba.
• Ability to provide follow up support by diagnosing and resolving production issues of the egg layer.
• Able to work with Industry Partners to problem solve client production dilemmas.
• Be part of a marketing team but be able to work independently.
• Have exceptional time management skills.
• Communication with Management and Hatchery.
• Sales area encompasses Southern Manitoba and contains a mix of farms including Hutterite Colonies.
• Travel is required and some lifting may be necessary.
• Must be able to work directly with poultry in a service capacity, basic knowledge of layer physiology is an asset.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Agriculture.
• Previous sales experience would be considered an asset.
• Experience/knowledge of Egg Industry or Associated industry would be considered an asset.
• Willingness to continue education and knowledge of egg‑layer chickens.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Valid drivers license.
