A regional health authority in Alberta is seeking a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I to perform procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging, specifically in rural sites. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, and preparing patients for procedures. The role requires a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology and registration with the relevant college. Competitive salary and full-time position with various shift patterns are offered.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter‑professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X‑ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X‑ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
