Job summary

A manufacturing company in York Region is seeking a CNC Machinist/Programmer with over 5 years of experience. In this day shift role, you will set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring quality and continuous improvement. Familiarity with various CNC controls and programming software is preferred. The role offers a salary of $30-32/hr for machinists or $35-37/hr for programmers.

Qualifications

• Min 5 years experience as a CNC machinist / programmer.
• Ability to multitask and cross-train on machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and align tooling on CNC Machines.
• Maintain tolerances with self-inspection and machine offsets.
• Document actions for quality logs and communicate discrepancies.
• Support ongoing improvements and 5S activities.

Job description

Summary

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor as a CNC Machinist/Programmer, you will work closely in Production. The successful candidate must be willing to multitask and cross-train on all machines within the cell, as required. This position is a day shift position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform own set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC Machines.
• Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection.
• Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and share updates as required.
• Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
• Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5 axis CNC machinist / programmer
• Min 5 years experience
• 40 hours a week Mon - Fri
• Familiarity with Heidenhein controls DMG DMU machines a plus
• Okuma machines
• Fanuc controls a plus
• Autodesk Fusion 360 Programming familiarity
• Open Mind Hypermill Programming familiarity

Salary Range

$30-32/hr for Machinist & $35-37/hr for Programmers
