Job description

Ross Memorial Hospital is an acute‑care community hospital located in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. The Professional Practice department is currently seeking a Temporary Part‑time Clinical Education Coordinator to join their team. This position will primarily be focused on the Woman & Child/OBS Unit and will be effective February 16, 2026 ending February 15, 2027.

Essential Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
  • Minimum five (5) years recent clinical experience in Woman & Child
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in the principles of adult learning theories
  • Experience in developing course curriculum
  • Recent experience in teaching at College/University level (both classroom and clinical settings)
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge and/or experience in surgical/obstetrical nursing required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EPIC programs – Stork and Clin Doc
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in MOREOB
  • Certification in NRP
  • Certification BLS
  • Certification in ACORN
  • Certification in EFM
  • Certification in Breastfeeding
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and deal effectively and co‑operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
  • Demonstrated high level of leadership, communication, organizational and time management skills required to manage the diverse education needs of the Woman & Child Program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control standards and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with moving best‑practice evidence into nursing practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with implementing internal and external (Ministry of Health) quality improvement projects
  • Essential computer skills include use of computer based teaching aids, use of Internet for research; and must be proficient in Word/PowerPoint/Excel
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical requirement of the position, as per the current Physical Demands analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • NRP Instructor; ACORN Instructor; EFM Instructor; CPR Instructor
  • Membership in RNAO and other related professional organizations
  • Perinatal Obstetric Certificate
  • Certification in Perinatal Nursing
  • Clinical experience with Women's Health Clinics
  • Experience with developing and/or giving presentations (oral and/or visual) at conferences and/or workshops

Hours of Work: Must be available for eight (8) hour day shift. Start times may vary. May be required to work evenings and weekends. Shifts and hours may vary according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA Collective Agreement.
