The Opportunity

We’re seeking a motivated Civil Superintendent with a background in civil construction and/or engineering who is ready to take the lead on‑site with a company that has a long‑standing history in BC roadbuilding. With a diverse fleet of equipment, a supportive team, and opportunities for professional growth, you’ll play a valuable role in projects that make a difference in communities across the province.

As a Civil Superintendent, you’ll be the driving force behind the successful execution of civil construction projects in the field. From overseeing crews and coordinating daily operations to ensuring safety and quality standards are met, your leadership will directly shape the outcome of infrastructure projects across BC. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands‑on environments.

This role is based out of Kelowna, with the possibility of travel to out‑of‑town projects on a rotational schedule. If you are positive, people‑oriented, and eager to grow in the civil construction industry, this could be the role for you!

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Site Leadership & Representation: Act as the primary on‑site representative, managing client, public, labour, and subcontractor interactions.
  • Daily Operations Oversight: Lead day‑to‑day construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans and specifications.
  • Plan Implementation: Execute site safety, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans effectively.
  • Scheduling & Resource Management: Coordinate project scheduling, resource allocation, and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Reporting & Communication: Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Communicate site changes and recommend solutions to the Project Manager.
  • Continuous Improvement: Optimize site operations to enhance safety, quality, and profitability.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager on labour and equipment needs, and with mechanical operations for servicing and repairs.
  • Labour Relations: Ensure compliance with collective agreements and maintain communication with union business agents.
Your Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of experience working in the construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • Experience with difficult access grading and rock work.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Multi‑discipline bridge experience an asset.
  • Gold Seal Certification is an asset.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and clean driving abstract required.
