Summary

To be part of a circle of support for a “core member” who is someone with a conviction of a sexual offence and who is seeking reintegration into the community with the desire to live a crime-free and autonomous life.

Responsibilities

• Circle volunteer support individuals who have sexually offended as the reintegrate post-incarceration.
• Circle volunteers facilitate open and honest dialogue; model healthy boundaries; assist the "core member" to empathise with others' experiences, feelings and needs; challenge harmful behaviours; and help the core member develop appropriate support networks outside of the Circle.
• Volunteers agree to attend the meetings (approximately 1 hour per week + 1 hour per month for "housekeeping"), work with the staff and other volunteers, and maintain confidentiality.
• Volunteers will attend a minimum of 6 hours of training before attending a Circle.
