Job description

Chief Administrative Officer
Town of Stewiacke

Shape the Future of Stewiacke - Lead with Vision!

Established in 1906, the Town of Stewiacke is a vibrant blend of tradition and modern charm, strategically poised for community-focused growth. Nestled between Halifax and Truro with easy access to Highway 102, Stewiacke offers scenic landscapes, rural farmlands, parks, golf courses, trails, and rivers – a perfect mix of history and contemporary allure.

What Stewiacke Offers:
Thriving annual growth in commercial and residential development, solid finances, robust services including healthcare, recreation, education, and an expanding water infrastructure project. Choose from attractive residential options, blending new developments with historic, small town appeal.

Your Role:
As CAO, you'll be the strategic leader leading municipal services – from infrastructure and human resources to parks, finance, and more. Join their dynamic senior management team, collaborate on innovative projects, and shape a future where Stewiacke continues to flourish. Reporting directly to the Mayor and Council, you’ll provide advice and support, ensuring efficient and effective strategies align with the legislated requirements of Nova Scotian municipalities.

Qualifications:
Bring your energy and experience with a degree in Public Administration, Business, or related fields. Showcase your skills in economic development, negotiations, strategic leadership, and financial management. Your effective communication and knowledge of municipal government issues as well as the NS Municipal Government Act (MGA) will be key to success in this role.
