Overview

For this post you will work 12‑hour shifts to cover the 24/7 service. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Care Nurse to develop and utilise existing clinical, leadership and management skills within a Charge Nurse post within Critical Care, Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Charge Nurse by managing the Critical Care nursing team, including assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team in supervising, training and education in conjunction with our dedicated Clinical Educator.
  • Exercise effective management of the nursing team, optimising the use of human resources, absence management and rostering to reflect activity requirements.
  • Ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance the patient’s experience of care.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ expert experience within a Critical Care environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in the field of Critical Care nursing.
  • Commitment to patient‑centred care, continuing professional development and an understanding of our service.
