Overview

Our close-knit culinary team is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-focused full-time baker / prep cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will produce a variety of sweet and savoury from-scratch pastries and breads for our catering operation. Some experience in savoury cooking will be beneficial, as this role will support all aspects of production, as required. We offer a mature and professional working environment and a fun place to spend your days.

Responsibilities
  • Daily preparation of catering events
  • Receiving shipments and packing for shipping daily
  • Wide range of pastry preparations including fresh breads, cakes, cookies, muffins, snacks, tarts, plated desserts, and more
  • Ensuring proper rotation of products
  • Neatly packing prepared food for the cafe + catering jobs
  • Participating in keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, including washing dishes as required
  • On-site event work, including evenings and weekends, when required
  • Assure compliance of all health and safety protocols and safe food handling regulations are upheld
  • Lead by example at all times in meeting established urban element brand and company standards
  • Follow all kitchen and operational policies and procedures
  • Support ordering and inventory processes
Location and Schedule

Our production kitchen is located on Industrial Ave. near St. Laurent Blvd. Applicants must have reliable transportation to the kitchen, and be available to work afternoons and evenings. Parking is provided on-site.

Standard shifts are 8am-4pm, however availability for earlier and later shifts when events dictate it are required.

Qualifications and Experience
  • The ideal candidate will have from-scratch experience and a minimum of 3-5 years of cooking experience in high-volume establishments such as hotels, catering companies, or banquet centres.
  • They are punctual, care about food, and enjoy working in a team environment. They should be able to accept direction and constructive feedback.
  • Experience working in fast paced environments and in synergy with other team members is key, as you are joining an existing tight-knit team with existing SOPs.
