Job summary

A community-focused camp organization in Kingston Parish is seeking a C.I.T. Director for its summer program. The Opportunity

As the C.I.T. Director, you will design and lead a 9-week leadership program for youth aged 15 and 16. This role combines mentorship, outdoor adventures, skill-building, and creativity to inspire the next generation of leaders. Reporting to the Camp Director, you’ll bring strong organizational and communication skills, along with your passion for outdoor education and community-building.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive C.I.T. program, including leadership training, a multi-day hike, and canoe trip.
  • Mentor and guide C.I.T.s by setting goals, conducting evaluations, and fostering teamwork.
  • Assist in swim and canoe instruction, including examinations.
  • Support the development and delivery of camp-wide emergency procedures.
  • Be a positive role model for staff, campers, and C.I.T.s, embodying professionalism in speech, dress, and behavior.
  • Maintain the safety, care, and organization of all camp equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of staff training programs for all camp counselors.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment for all campers and staff.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in youth programming, education, or recreation.
  • Previous experience in a camp or youth program setting.
  • Certifications such as Ropes Course, NLS, Canoe/Kayak, or Pleasure Craft Operators are assets.
  • Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a collaborative approach.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • A commitment to living on-site at Camp Glenburn from June to September.
  • Employment is contingent on clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Social Development Clearance Check.
