CAD Designer – Gentec Equipment

Location: Orléans, ON

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a CAD Designer to join our team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate in computer aided design and drafting and eager to apply their technical skills in a dynamic, real-world manufacturing environment. You’ll gain valuable experience by contributing to the development of our product lines, including standard and custom attachments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed SolidWorks models and drawings of standard and custom parts.
  • Work on various design tasks involving: Excavator Buckets, Excavator Thumbs, Excavator Rakes and Product Renderings for internal and promotional use.
  • Maintain and apply custom properties in SolidWorks files.
  • Create drawings in adherence to industry-standard drafting practices, including welding symbols, GD&T, and dimensioning standards.
  • Support engineers by updating BOMs and part documentation.
  • Work independently while maintaining accuracy and design integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, with experience in: Sheet Metal, Weldments, Assemblies, Renderings, Custom Properties
  • Solid understanding of drafting standards and welding symbols.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Self-driven with good time management and communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Completion of 2 year college program in drafting or equivalent
