Responsibilities And Duties
- Assess business needs to determine appropriate specifications for purchases
- Create comprehensive specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies
- Review and analyze supplier quotations to select the most suitable options
- Evaluate and negotiate offers and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Procure general and specialized equipment, materials and business services as per business needs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and budget requirements
- Establish and maintain effective communication with suppliers for ongoing procurement needs
- Monitor order and delivery schedules; proactively resolve delays, shortages, or quality issues with suppliers
- Track and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfillment of orders
- Communicate with clients and suppliers to identify and resolve issues related to procurement and delivery
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and develop improvement plans
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance for management review
Qualifications And Skills
- Must be able to communicate in English
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently; work under pressure; tight deadlines; attention to detail; large caseload
- Personal suitability: client focus; efficient interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication; organized; team player; time management; flexibility; ability to multitask
