A leading recruitment firm is currently seeking a Business Analyst for a 12-month contract role in Calgary, Alberta. Overview

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Business Analyst for a 12 month contract role with a client in Calgary.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze business processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities by gathering and interpreting data, conducting stakeholder interviews, and reviewing existing documentation.
  • Support successful project delivery within Grid Reliability Services by eliciting and managing business requirements, mapping dependencies, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement through workshops, meetings, and collaborative sessions to drive shared understanding and decision-making across diverse professional groups.
  • Apply a solid understanding of the client’s business, systems, and technical landscape to deliver consistent, high-quality outputs using established tools, templates, and frameworks.
  • Produce key BA artifacts aligned with best practices, such as stakeholder analyses, current- and future-state process models, business requirements documents (BRDs), use cases, decision logs, and traceability matrices.
  • Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business goals.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels through presentations, briefing notes, and reports.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis or a related field: The successful candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data, identify trends and patterns, and develop insights that inform business decisions.
  • Previous experience in the utilities field
  • Manage multiple and changing priorities while meeting overall requirements and deadlines
