Position: Automotive Journeyman Technician

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, test, and repair vehicle systems to ensure security and functionality using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspect critical components (e.g., brakes, fuel systems, engines); repair or replace parts as needed.
- Mentor apprentices and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and OEM standards.
- Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production/repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and provide repair recommendations while ensuring safety and reliability before vehicle return.
- Document all work on the repair order in a manner consistent with OEM standards and ensure warranty work is properly processed.
- Maintain an inventory of common tools used by technicians that are not typically inventoried by the Service department.
- Keep current with factory technical bulletins and participate in required factory-sponsored training.
- Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.
Must-Haves
- Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
- Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate (completed or in process).
- Red Seal Certification is an asset.
- Completion of related post-secondary program or training courses.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic; excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; high integrity and work ethic.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving history.
