Assistant Director of Wellness

Aspira Pacifica Retirement Living & Aspira Peninsula Retirement Living (South Surrey) – This is a Permanent Full-Time position.

Schedule : Wed 2pm-10pm, Thurs 2pm-10pm, Fri 2pm-10pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 9am-5pm. Mon & Tue OFF

Salary : $65k-$70k annually

Reporting to the Director of Wellness, the Assistant Director of Wellness will work alongside the Director of Wellness to lead a clinical team to provide care support and services.

What you’ll be doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Aspira Management team and impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborating with the Director of Wellness to promote and ensure standards of practice are achieved and evaluated; complete all stable resident reassessments in conjunction with the Nursing team; in absence of DOW complete initial assessments, develop service plans and arrange resident/family care conferences as required to ensure all data is valid and up to date; assess resident care needs, develop plan of care and determine corresponding care fees and staffing requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Wellness to schedule and adjust staffing levels to ensure consistency with occupancy, resident acuity and services offered.
  • Provide oversight and management of the Continence Care Program; completing assessments, orders, sizing, and service transitions.
  • Oversee and supervise the medication administration program including administering medications, completing audits, monitoring control, training of new team members and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
  • Coverage for Dow Absences
  • Manage Wellness Team onboarding and education requirements
  • Develop professional and collaborative relationships with hospital staff, participate in marketing outreach such as presentations on wellness services and aging in place philosophy
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Who you are
  • An exceptional manager with a demonstrated track record of delivering results and continuously improving performance
  • A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Minimum three years’ experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
  • You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
  • Can demonstrate strong technology skills in Microsoft Office suite programs
