The Kemptville housing team is seeking to add an Animal Care Supervisor to join this growing and evolving team. This role is responsible for partnering with the Animal Care leadership team in leading and coordinating the daily animal care and semen collection process with a focus on maximizing production, semen quality and animal health.

Responsibilities:
  • Animal Care, coordination and participation in all animal care activities including but not limited to feeding, bedding, hoof trimming etc.
  • Maintaining bull health and wellness in collaboration with the corporate veterinarian
  • Monitoring and ensuring Biosecurity protocols are followed
  • Semen Collection, coordination and participation in semen collection activities
  • Facilities and Equipment management to ensure maintenance and safety
  • Daily supervision and direction to direct reports (approx. 9-12 direct reports)
  • Probationary and performance reviews on all direct reports
  • Employee time-card entry for payroll
  • Collaboration with external departments such as R&I, Marketing & Talent Management
Skills:
  • 3-5 years of herd management experience
  • Planning and coordination of workload
  • Delegation
  • Clear communication both written and verbal
  • Comfort and understanding with tools and software such as AX, SharePoint and ADP
