ELITS is now looking for an AI Data Engineer for our operations in Montreal.

About this position

As an AI Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain data pipelines that empower machine learning and analytics across the organization. You’ll collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver clean, reliable, and scalable data infrastructure, ensuring seamless flow from raw sources to production systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for machine learning workloads.
  • Automate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple environments (cloud and on-premise).
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security for AI/ML models and analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements and optimize workflows.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance, addressing issues promptly.
  • Integrate data sources (APIs, databases, files) and enable downstream analytics and machine learning.
  • Document architectures, data lineage, and operational procedures for transparency and reproducibility.
  • Maintain data infrastructure with regular upgrades and preventative maintenance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience building data pipelines and supporting data infrastructure in AI or analytics environments.
  • Proficient with Python, SQL, and at least one workflow automation tool (e.g., Airflow, Luigi).
  • Experience with big data platforms (Databricks, Spark, Hadoop) and cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing, and schema design.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD, version control (Git), and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Commitment to best practices in data quality, documentation, and operational support.
Preferred
  • Experience integrating ML workflows with data pipelines.
  • Prior exposure to real-time data streaming (Kafka, Kinesis).
  • Knowledge of security and compliance in large-scale data operations.
