About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Data & Research, the Advancement Analyst is responsible for overseeing the facilitation of constituent tracking, relationship management, data acquisition and extraction to ensure data integrity and quality. This position works closely with internal staff and leadership to provide analysis and reporting to support data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, execute and maintain customized lists and queries to support the Development & Alumni Relations team, as well as informational requests from other campus departments.
  • Develop and maintain a suite of reports that captures fundraising performances, alumni engagement activities and benchmarking targets.
  • Conduct data analysis and synthesis to support fiscal progress and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborate with campus colleagues and external stakeholders to ascertain data needs and inform fundraising and engagement strategies.
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting of institutional data to relevant professional organizations.
  • Document and maintain processes, procedures and workflows to support efficiencies of information exchange and data maintenance.
  • Provide leadership and vision for records management, data acquisition, data extraction and overall data integrity.
  • Ensure all applicable policies, procedures and standards related to the data are upheld to maintain compliance.
  • Participate in discussions with third-party vendors for database-related elements to determine strategies and solutions to maximize outcomes.
  • Manage data communication between the institution and third-party vendors, ensuring data is properly uploaded into Raiser’s Edge.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT database.
  • Advanced knowledge of data definitions, dependencies, and formats.
  • Working knowledge of import utilities such as Omatic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft desktop products, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Advancement (fundraising) cycle, from prospecting to close.
  • Ability to translate findings into diverse formats for various audiences (graphics, charts, narrative, tables).
  • Clear and open communication with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data integrity and accuracy.
  • Understanding of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines as they apply to gift processing.
  • Knowledge of FIPPA and PIPEDA legislation, data governance principles.
Preferred or Asset Skills
  • Blackbaud Certification in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field.
Salary and Total Rewards
  • Job Grade K, Salary Scale ($61,286 - $99,384).
  • Target Hiring Range: $61,286 - $64,500.
  • This is a permanent position that includes: health & dental benefits, pension plan eligibility, vacation up to 3 weeks per year, and flexible work arrangements (hybrid schedule).
  • Professional Development: Eligibility for the Brock Tuition Waiver Program.
