Job Overview

The Facilities Coordinator provides daily facilities maintenance and operations support to all buildings and property owned or leased by RBCM, including managing facilities contractors (e.g., construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, janitorial, fire/life safety) as required. This position is directly responsible for telecommunications, wireless, and vehicle maintenance; liaison with preventive maintenance contractors, landscaping contractors, recycling, cleaners, engineers, consultants; and office equipment purchase, maintenance and repair for RBCM.

This position is required to travel as necessary to meet operational requirements for the Royal BC Museum downtown Victoria location, PARC Campus Colwood location, and related facilities (e.g., warehouse locations), and have a valid BC driver’s licence or equivalent.

We are looking for a Facilities Coordinator who will bring a wealth of expertise and initiative to our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have completed post‑secondary coursework in facilities management, trade school and/or apprenticeship in skilled or building trades (mechanical, electrical and plumbing), property management, project management; OR have an equivalent combination of education and related experience in this field of work may be considered.

Knowledge of building construction and services (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety systems) standards, BC Fire Code Regulations, and worker safety and hazardous material regulations; as well as experience using CMMS software and commissioning a new building will be significant assets in this role.
