Position Summary

Reporting to the IT Solutions Manager, the Enterprise Applications Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, architecting, and supervising all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third‑party solutions as required to meet the business requirements of the organization. This individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining the organizational applications roadmap. The Enterprise Applications Specialist will guide testing of the interoperability of application modules under development by in‑house software development teams, commercial off‑the‑shelf software deployed in the organization, and with external third parties as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain application architecture documentation for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain application roadmaps for the organization.
  • Orchestrate application projects and corresponding strategies between divisions and project teams.
  • Plan the integration of new application functionality into existing systems and software throughout the enterprise.
  • Contribute towards ensuring that application projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end‑user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Ensure that application planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic vision.
  • Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate application projects and initiatives.
  • Research and make recommendations on application products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of newly integrated software programs and applications. Guide integration testing phase of software and applications.
  • Liaise with IT Team to address issues in program logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing systems software.
  • Build relationships with vendors and provide feedback on their technical integration capabilities.
  • Work with IT Team members to ensure smooth transition to operations for projects.
  • Guide problem and incident management activities to use industry practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in application integration.

  • Experience in developing enterprise and solution level architectural designs.
  • Experience in overseeing the linking of cross‑functional applications between disparate business units and systems.
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping.
  • Experience with core software applications, including association management software systems.
  • Experience with risk management methodologies as they relate to integration and software.
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.
  • Project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project‑based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
  • Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Conduct research into application issues and products.
  • Highly self‑motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree in IST, computer science, software or computing networking or a related field
  • 8 plus years of progressively responsible related experience in medium IT environments.
  • Certifications in IT security, networking, virtualization and/or project management would be considered assets.
  • Equivalencies may be considered.
