Metal Toad is a fully remote company, offering all team members the ability to work from home. For this opportunity, the selected candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST).

Although Metal Toad is a remote company, we are currently seeking contractors residing in Brazil for this position. Compensation will be made in Brazilian Reais (R$), in accordance with the local currency of the country where the position is located. The SEO Expert at Metal Toad will play a key role in our marketing strategy, owning the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our SEO performance. The ideal candidate is a hybrid profile with both strategic SEO knowledge and technical expertise, with the ability to optimize websites built using XenForo (PHP framework), classic PHP environments, and HubSpot CMS.

• Develop and execute data-driven SEO strategies to increase organic visibility, rankings, and conversions.
• Perform comprehensive keyword research, competitor benchmarking, and site audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve domain authority, traffic, and SERP positioning.

• Optimize and troubleshoot SEO performance in XenForo forums (PHP-based), legacy PHP pages, and HubSpot environments.
• Ensure site architecture, crawlability, indexing, redirects, canonical tags, structured data, and page speed meet SEO best practices.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure SEO integration in site updates and new features.

• Guide content strategy through keyword mapping, intent alignment, and optimization of metadata, headings, schema, internal linking, and image attributes.
• Partner with content creators to ensure SEO best practices are applied to all assets.

• Track, analyze, and report SEO KPIs (traffic, rankings, CTR, conversions).
• Continuously test, refine, and recommend improvements.

• Recommend ethical link-building strategies to improve domain authority.

• Stay informed about SEO algorithm changes, evolving best practices, and industry trends.

• 5+ years of hands‑on SEO experience (technical + content + strategy).
• Strong experience with platforms such as XenForo, PHP‑based websites, and HubSpot CMS.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and website architecture principles.
• Strong knowledge of SEO tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.).
• Experience optimizing technical SEO elements (crawlability, structured data, canonicalization, page speed, sitemaps, robots.txt, schema).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Alignment with Metal Toad’s values and mission.

• Experience with AWS or cloud/technology industries.
• HubSpot Marketing certifications.
• Basic understanding of PPC and how it complements SEO.
• Experience with content marketing and copywriting.
• Familiarity with schema markup and structured data.
• AWS Certifications or willingness to become AWS certified.
