Staff Software Engineer | General Platform Services

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Staff Backend Software Engineer to our General Platform Services team in Brazil.

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to take over for some of the most complex projects related to key teams of the General Platform Services (GPS) focus area. Most of these projects will be related to Identity, Account and Privacy services like adapting services related to login to be multi-region, help create and evolve an architecture for audit logs, help measuring and adapting services resources according to usage and costs.

Your Impact

• Design and develop APIs and workers to interface with various other services in the Wellhub ecosystem, ensuring APIs are secure, scalable, and performant;
• Consistently follow best practices and contribute to technical decisions in code reviews and design discussions;
• Help design and implement testing standards grounded in best practices;
• Configure and fine-tune infrastructure components to meet the needs of each application, working closely with SREs;
• Create load test plans and execute them to understand and improve services\' performance, resources usage and costs according to each use case;
• Help solve incidents by joining war rooms, troubleshooting, measuring impact, implementing hotfixes, writing post-mortems, and planning actions from post-mortems;
• Analyze service alerts and monitor engineering metrics on a daily basis;
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers;
• Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to non-technical stakeholders;
• Mentor less senior engineers and provide guidance as needed;

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
• Strong focus on delivering quality and improvements at every opportunity;
• Solid experience with RESTful APIs written in Java/Kotlin + Spring or Golang;
• Solid Software Architecture knowledge (Event-driven architectures, serverless);
• Solid software quality and test automation mindset;
• Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience;
• Experience with SQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL;
• Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems;
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams across different countries;
• Advanced English skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly in English.
