Sales and Service Representative, Aluminum

Allied Refractory Products India Pvt Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide.

We are seeking a Sales and Service Representative - Aluminum in Chennai, India. This position sells refractory products and services offered by Allied Mineral Products (“Allied”) to a diverse refractory market, primarily the Aluminum industry, and oversees 3rd Party refractory installation contractors. It also maintains a high level of written and verbal communication with colleagues at Allied and customers and ensures that our employees, subcontractors, and the customers’ employees are working safely.

Key Duties
  • Sales and service to customers within the India marketplace.
  • Work closely with distributors, OEMs and contractors as necessary.
  • Carefully plan sales calls and maximize time and effort in order to maximize sales in those designated territories.
  • Determine market potential in major primary & secondary Aluminum metal applications. Obtain the correct names, titles, addresses, type of equipment, metals melted, temperatures involved, competitive product information, and pricing information. Understand all of the packaging, shipping and documentation necessary to ship that product correctly and efficiently.
  • Conduct training and sales meetings regularly for agents and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with the home office by submitting call reports on all travel on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Maintain and keep current records and customer files, customer order and quote logs, trial sheets, call reports and potential sheets in an orderly and updated manner.
  • Control expenses within budget and submit in a timely fashion to Allied.
  • Responsible for oversight of territory account receivables.
  • Promote, introduce, demonstrate and obtain orders for Allied products. Provide technical recommendations to customers.
  • In conjunction with the Business Manager‑Aluminum, establish reasonable goals and objectives and see that these are implemented in a professional manner.
  • Write call reports and submit in a timely fashion. Make sure this information is transmitted clearly and accurately. Determine appropriate follow-up action, implement and report to the appropriate management.
  • Collect marketing information from trade magazines, journals, call reports, inquiries, phone calls, etc.; and disseminate to other sales personnel.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual forecast for your sales territory. Coordinate this information appropriate management.
  • Work to expand and reinforce a climate of positive attitudes with staff, distributors, furnace manufacturers and customers.
  • Work closely with the other sales engineers in India in order to translate any leads for new accounts discovered and to receive the same information from them.
  • Work very closely with OEM’s in order to maintain a relationship based on trust, confidence, reliability, and technical superiority.
Qualifications
  • This position requires a degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Marketing, Engineering, or Business.
  • Must possess knowledge of the Aluminum metals industry with primary concentration in Die-casting foundry industry.
  • A minimum of one year experience in Aluminum metal industries, with overall Sales & Service experience of around 4-5 years.
  • Fluency in Hindi, Tamil and English is required.
  • Work from home office and frequently visit customers at heavy industry locations.
  • Required to follow Allied Mineral Products’ Safety & Health policy and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate when in the production plant.
  • Required to follow Safety & Health policy of our customers when on their properties.
