ERM is looking for a Mid-level Flora Consultant in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre or Salvador.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys for plant species identification, vegetation mapping, habitat classification, and forest inventory. Preparing technical reports and compensation measures for vegetation suppression authorization;
  • Support the development of flora baselines and contribute to critical habitat and ecosystem assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs), ecological restoration strategies, and biodiversity monitoring programs.
  • Analyze flora-related data using GIS tools and biodiversity databases.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, including Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) documentation and regulatory compliance materials.
  • Ensure alignment with national environmental legislation and international standards, such as IFC Performance Standard 6 and IUCN guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Botany, Ecology, Biology, or a related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in flora surveys, vegetation analysis, or ecological consulting.
  • Solid knowledge of regional flora and plant taxonomy.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools, remote sensing, and biodiversity platforms (e.g., IUCN Red List, IBAT).
  • Experience with environmental licensing or impact assessments.
  • Strong writing skills in both Portuguese and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic field and consulting environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
