Join our Flexible Pipe Manufacturing & Operations team! We design systems and manufacture flexible pipes that enable oil and gas production. Innovating in the energy industry, our subsea and surface capabilities are industry leading. We are a collaborative team delivering essential services to the business—supporting production, installation, and delivery of our flexible pipe portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Perform production project feasibility analyses per internal procedures; specify and request the purchase of equipment, tooling and fixtures needed to execute activities; deliver (when applicable) technical training to the operations team based on internal procedures and work instructions.
- Implement improvement projects focused on activity optimization—reducing accident risks, increasing product and process quality, and improving operational productivity; generate indicators (Quality, HSE, Cost, and Design) to manage projects and report in leadership meetings.
- Join quality investigations related to cost of poor quality increases and implement improvements in partnership with Quality and other related areas; join HSE incident investigations, implementing engineering barriers to avoid recurrence and improve operating conditions.
- Establish periodically review performance indices and standard rates for each work center, as required.
- Network and benchmark with manufacturing engineering teams at other Baker Hughes plants, sharing best practices to optimize production processes.
- Scan the market for new technologies and methods to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Support nonconformity analyses, perform root cause analysis in parallel with production.
- Provide technical support to the production team on the shop floor as needed on matters impacting Productivity, Efficiency, Safety, and Quality.
- Liaise with equipment/tooling suppliers and raw material suppliers (through Technology or Sourcing) to clarify topics about machine performance, technical issues, or operational matters.
- Ensure that Health, Safety, and Environmental values expressed in company policies are practiced by employees, suppliers, and contractors through identification, monitoring, and control of environmental impacts and occupational risks—based on attitude, leadership, training, and commitment.
- Work in compliance with company policies and procedures related to Quality and operations. Report any nonconformity, concern, or risk to product, process, or service. Commit to Quality objectives and seek continuous improvement of products/processes/services.
- Pursue new technologies and methods for optimizing manufacturing tooling, improving items and components via reverse engineering concepts.
- Support solutions for after‑sales or warranty project needs.
- Occasionally accompany offshore or offsite operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Desirable: MBA in Process or Project Management, or Industrial Engineering.
- Mandatory: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and advanced Excel.
- Advanced/fluent English. (Differential: study abroad/international experience.)
- Required: Proven experience in engineering and/or manufacturing processes.
- Desirable: Root Cause Analysis (RCA), TPM, Lean Manufacturing; programming skills applicable to tools such as VBA, PowerApps, Power BI, and GoFormz; leadership training.
- Desirable: Experience with flexible pipe manufacturing processes.
