Responsabilidades

Position: CNC Operator

Location: Greymouth

Type: Full-time/Permanent

Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday morning)

Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week

About the Role

As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for safely and accurately operating CNC routers and associated woodworking machinery to manufacture timber components to required specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality output, efficient production, and maintaining strong housekeeping and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC routers and relevant woodworking machinery following job specs and production schedules.
• Interpret drawings, measurements, and production paperwork to ensure machining accuracy.
• Conduct quality checks on dimensions, tolerances, and finishes.
• Perform basic machine setup, tooling changes, and calibrations.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and comply with all Health & Safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with the Team Leader, Production Manager, and team members.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of CNC equipment.
• Identify and report machine faults, material issues, or production risks promptly.
• Support continuous improvement in workflows, machining processes, and tooling efficiency.
• Assist with stock management regarding tooling, bits, materials, and consumables.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CNC Operator in wood manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC Wood systems.
• Ability to work with 5-axis CNC routers (SCM).
• Familiarity with tools such as wide belt sanders.
• Experience working with solid timber (NZ Pine, American Ash).
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 20 kg repetitively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Driver’s licence required.
