We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Backend Developer to join our Direct Product team and play a key role in our next phase of explosive growth.

The Challenge:

As a Direct Product Backend Developer, you’ll dive into crafting well‑tested code, sharing your expertise with the team, and tackling challenges that ignite your passion. You’ll be instrumental in building new APIs and features for our first‑party ordering product—a critical component of our platform.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop cutting‑edge APIs and features for online ordering.
• Get creative with massive datasets, designing algorithms to generate reports for millions of products and orders.
• Implement Machine to Machine (M2M) Authorization.
• Proactively anticipate and prevent performance bottlenecks, thinking at scale.
• Build core product features that elevate our application.
• Participate in code reviews, sharing your knowledge and learning from others.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate seamlessly with other teams, communicating effectively daily.
• Partner with product owners, customer success, and technical account managers to understand challenges and design innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the selection of new technologies and frameworks.
• You might even connect directly with customers to understand how we can improve.

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience in backend development.

Essential Skills:

• 5+ years of experience using Python in a web context (Flask and Eve). Experience with other languages (like Ruby) is welcome, with a willingness to learn quickly.
• Experience building Web/REST APIs.
• Familiarity with various API standards (REST, JSON‑RPC, SOAP/XML).
• Proficiency with Git and the CLI.
• Experience with API clients (Postman, Insomnia).
• Experience building SaaS products and working on a product with frequent releases in a fast‑paced environment.

Bonus Points:

• Knowledge of databases, especially NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Understanding of Docker or Kubernetes in a cloud environment.
• Experience with TDD.
• Experience with testing.
