Job Title: Rolling Stock Technician – Interior Fitting - Duration 6 months only

Department: Rolling Stock Maintenance / Manufacturing
Reports To: Rolling Stock Supervisor / Team Leader

Job Summary:

The Rolling Stock Technician (Interior Fitting) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and inspection of interior components on metro rail vehicles. This includes fitting panels, seats, flooring, partitions, lighting systems, and other interior elements in accordance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and fit interior components such as wall panels, ceilings, lighting, flooring, partitions, windows, grab poles, and seating systems.
• Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assist in the assembly of new metro rail vehicles or refurbishment of existing fleet interiors.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to cut, shape, and assemble interior fittings.
• Work with other trades including electrical and mechanical teams to coordinate installation work.
• Carry out fault diagnosis and corrective actions for interior systems and fittings.
• Ensure all interior components meet safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards.
• Document work completed, report defects or deviations, and ensure traceability of materials and components.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations strictly.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical, Fitting, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in interior fitting, preferably in the rail, aviation, or automotive sector.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and power equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, precision, and quality control.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Understanding of safety practices in a workshop or rail environment.

• Experience with metro or light rail vehicles.
• Familiarity with international rail standards (e.g., EN, UIC).
• Knowledge of fire safety materials, insulation, and passenger information systems.
