Synopsis

Responsible for providing relevant business area stakeholders with financial information, tools, analyses, and insights to support informed decision-making and business strategy. This involves partnering with Business and Finance teams, analyzing financial performance against targets, supporting financial planning, and revising processes and tools. The role is part of the Financial Planning and Strategy team, reporting to the Senior Manager FBP, and requires establishing trust-based relationships with key stakeholders within the portfolio business areas. The incumbent is expected to operate independently with minimal supervision, taking accountability for the following responsibilities.

Accountabilities

• Strategic finance partnering with Business Areas: Partner with VPs, Directors, and teams to cascade financial priorities, plan actions, and drive implementation by understanding key cost and revenue drivers, company and business area priorities, and existing processes and tools, under supervision.
• Supporting and challenging Business Areas: Support portfolio business areas in understanding the financial impacts of options, communicate findings, support business case preparations, review supplier bid evaluations, articulate financial recommendations, seek profitability improvements, and address day-to-day financial queries. Facilitate connections between business areas and relevant finance stakeholders, and collaborate with other finance departments to understand and improve finance operations and governance.
• Monthly reporting and analysis: Act as a bridge between Management Reporting and business areas to ensure understanding of actual costs, revenues, and variances, and prepare supporting reports.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare and manage annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including procedures, timelines, content, templates, reviews, consolidations, and system updates. Identify and track profit improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Professional qualifications such as CMA, ACCA, MBA, CPA, or equivalent are preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in finance roles related to the supported business areas.
• Knowledge of the airline industry and finance operations within large, complex companies.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Stakeholder and people management abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems, processes, and reporting.
• Expertise in building complex financial models using Excel or similar tools.
