About Lead Contracts Engineer

Position: Lead Contracts Engineer

Star Services LLC is a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company in the oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Contracts Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As the Lead Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's contracts, from initial negotiation to final execution. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that contracts are drafted, negotiated, and executed in a timely and efficient manner, while also protecting the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the contracts team in the preparation, review, and negotiation of all types of contracts, including EPC, EPCM, and service contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful contract negotiations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure that all parties are meeting their obligations.
  • Resolve any contract-related issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on contract matters.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, standard clauses, and other contract-related documents.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in contract management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial terms.
  • Experience in negotiating and drafting complex contracts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
