With growing operations and increasing regulatory complexity in the UAE, we are establishing a dedicated compliance function to ensure our group entities meet evolving tax and financial reporting obligations.

Role Objective

The Tax and Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing internal assessments and compliance related to UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, and Customs regulations, while also aligning group-wide accounting processes with local financial standards. This role is pivotal to enhancing financial transparency, compliance preparedness, and group-wide reporting efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Corporate Tax and VAT Compliance
  • Ensure end-to-end Corporate Tax (CT) compliance for Amzone and its subsidiaries, including periodic CT return preparation, reconciliation, and filing.
  • Conduct internal assessments to determine tax positions, exemptions, and eligibility under the Designated Free Zone regime.
  • Maintain documentation and records to support tax positions, qualifying income, and economic substance requirements.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure ongoing compliance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) guidelines.
  • Customs Compliance
  • Oversee customs documentation, duty calculations, import/export declarations, and related audits for goods movement.
  • Ensure compliance with SAIF Zone and UAE Federal customs laws, especially in relation to free zone transfers and re-exports.
  • Liaise with internal logistics and procurement teams to align records and clearances.
  • Accounting and Regulatory Reporting
  • Assist in streamlining accounting procedures across the group to align with local regulations and IFRS standards.
  • Support internal controls and documentation for audit readiness and tax review processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly MIS reports with a focus on tax position, liabilities, and compliance metrics for management review.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
  • Act as a key liaison between internal finance, external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure consistent and up-to-date communication of compliance requirements across group companies.
  • Support finance leadership in embedding compliance awareness within the accounting and procurement functions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications

  • CA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent financial qualification.

Professional Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in auditing, tax advisory, or corporate finance, with exposure to UAE regulations.
  • Prior experience in managing corporate tax, VAT, or financial reporting standards is essential.

Technical Competencies

  • Working knowledge of:
    • UAE Corporate Tax regulations (including qualifying income, tax group provisions, and exemptions)
    • FTA VAT rules and filing processes
    • Customs compliance procedures
    • IFRS and group consolidation principles
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/accounting systems, and tax portals
