Job Summary

The role of the Sr. Manager Risk and Compliance EU & GM is a key part of the Global Compliance COE Team and the wider business, integral to the effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Xylem’s Control Framework. The incumbent will have a key role in improving the effectiveness of the Three Lines of Defence model by performing monitoring and testing, analysing incidents and other risk data to help the business and controlling leadership continually improve the delivery of our control processes.

Accountabilities
  • Plan and manage the effective and efficient operation of Xylem’s Sarbanes‑Oxley program in line with regulatory and regional requirements.
  • Ensure suitable compliance policies and procedures are in place and help embed these across the region.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject‑matter expert, providing advice across the region on compliance‑related matters and managing a team of four direct reports.
  • Actively monitor risks that exceed the company’s risk appetite/tolerance and collaborate with business units on the adequacy of risk‑mitigating efforts.
  • Collaborate with business units and the Manager Internal Audit/Data Analytics to develop key risk indicators and associated monitoring/reporting techniques.
  • Actively partner with regional accounting leaders to implement new controls and improve existing control frameworks.
  • Develop reporting frameworks to keep business leaders informed on the control environment at both regional and EU/GM levels.
  • Facilitate Internal SOX & FCPA audit assessments to test the effectiveness of the EU/GM control environment.
  • Conduct compliance workshops to elevate the capability and knowledge of EU/GM accounting/controlling functions as well as business leadership.
Required Skills / Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related focus (e.g., Business Administration/Economics).
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the field of Risk Assurance, Internal and/or External Audit (Big 4 preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in SOX compliance, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), and PCAOB standards.
  • 10 years of experience with regulatory frameworks, including information security (SOX, FCPA, GDPR, CCPA).
  • 5 years of experience reporting compliance results to leadership through timely and effective writing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information.
  • Motivated self‑starter with the ability to inspire and lead.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to translate across various lines of business.
  • Influential leader capable of transcending the controlling function and impacting/improving business processes.
Other Skills
  • Experience with GRC tools is preferred.
  • Fluency or knowledge of French is preferred.
  • Must be fluent in both writing and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and OneStream.
  • Excellent communicator capable of being assertive yet tactful and diplomatic.
  • Ability to motivate staff to achieve results.
  • Act as an inspiring people leader.
  • Customer service orientation, both internal and external.
