Job description

We are seeking a visionary and innovative Senior Landscape Architect to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our design leadership, you will be responsible for creating stunning, sustainable landscapes that enhance the urban environment and respect the local ecosystem.

  1. A Senior Landscape Architect is expected to contribute to the practice strategy, develop innovative design processes, standards, and methodologies for project delivery.
  2. Understand complex customer and market needs.
  3. Develop project outcomes and coordinate the team to effectively manage delivery and resources as agreed with the Director and clients.
  4. Manage, coordinate, and lead smaller landscape design projects independently with minimal oversight.
  5. Clarify roles within project teams and understand project responsibilities.
  6. Prepare deployment plans based on provided fees for review with the senior team.
  7. Lead client meetings and own the structure and content of deliverables.
  8. Apply graphic standards and assess project-specific standards and regulations.
  9. Determine governance, sustainability, construction standards, and regional regulatory guidelines.
  10. Write descriptive landscape design principles, technical reports, and guidelines clearly.
  11. Participate in workshops and prepare summary reports.
  12. Lead design teams to prepare materials for workshops and presentations with a clear storyline.
  13. Deliver designs and technical landscape packages independently with senior team review.
  14. Coordinate with authorities and technical disciplines involved in projects.
  15. Understand planting and irrigation standards and guidelines for the region.
  16. Provide updates for weekly meetings.
  17. Gain site experience on ongoing projects and resolve issues with senior team support.
  18. Support bid preparations by contributing to technical approaches, methodologies, and delivery structures.
  19. Organize internal libraries and update project documentation.
  20. Develop innovative design ideas using digital tools and personal skills.
  21. Apply quality procedures and conduct self-checks on deliverables.
  22. Review documents as per PDS deliverables (QA/QC).
  23. Enhance landscape design graphics standards and document for team use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Professional license in Landscape Architecture
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with successful large-scale projects
  • Proficiency in CAD and landscape design software (e.g., Land F/X, VectorWorks Landmark)
  • Expertise in 3D modeling and rendering software
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of sustainable landscape practices and water-efficient techniques
  • Familiarity with local plant species, ecosystems, and regulations
  • LEED AP certification preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
  • Willingness to adapt designs to UAE’s climate and cultural context
