The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for supervising and managing civil engineering works related to infrastructure utilities, such as Sewer Scheme Supervision Projects. This role requires an experienced engineer with extensive knowledge of sewer networks, stormwater networks, water supply networks, 11KV telephone networks, etc., for construction and infrastructure projects within the scope of the project.
- Oversee the construction of sewer networks, stormwater networks, water supply networks, 11KV telephone networks, geogrid walls, internal roads, including pipeline laying, manhole construction, and microtunneling.
- Review and approve construction materials, methods, and method statements.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, standards, and OH&S requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of works and materials.
- Review and approve shop drawings and other submittals to ensure compliance with the design.
- Monitor and report on the progress of works, providing updates to the Project Manager and Ministry representatives.
- Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical issues during construction.
- Coordinate with local authorities (e.g., DEWA, DCD, DM) for construction NOCs, handover, and resolving technical issues.
- Ensure project completion to high quality standards and within the agreed timeline.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in civil engineering, focusing on infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record managing large-scale infrastructure projects in urban settings.
- Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, especially in infrastructure design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of urban planning and development principles.
- Experience with sustainable engineering practices and green infrastructure solutions.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in the UAE (preferred Dubai).
- Regional experience in the GCC, with local experience in Bahrain being an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control practices.
- Solid understanding of financial management and resource planning within an engineering consultancy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
